Field & Fern was created to address the need for a greater understanding of the unique natural landscapes of the San Juan Islands. Our mission is to provide landowners and other current island dwellers with a deeper knowledge of the native species that also call this place home.

Shoreline seeding of native grasses and forbs, private ownership, Orcas Island
Following the recent construction of a home on the south end of Orcas, we worked with local landscapers, Greening & Greening, to work with the natural landscape of the site and enhance the native grasses around the home. This creates a very low-maintenance landscape that is drought tolerant.
